A "brush" is basically just a spraypaint tool that has a specific shape to it.

I assume you know how to click on your brush button, but just in case, I'll explain below on how to choose a brush. Be sure to choose the color you want your brush to be, then choose the brush shape you want.

With Adobe PhotoShop, you'll see your brushes bar, click on the brushes option button, then you can just click on the brush you want (if you wish to add custom brushes, be sure to unzip the brushes into your x:/adobe/brushes folder [the x:/ is the hard drive your Adobe program is in, the adobe/ is the folder your Adobe program is under, and the brushes/ is obviously the folder where your brushes go], try hard to keep your hard disk organized into sections like that for your ease and sanity.) Then, click on the right facing arrow on the brushes bar, click on load brushes, and then click on the .abr set you wish to load.).

With Jasc PaintShopPro, first click on the brush option button, then click on or mouseover your controls box, click on the brush tip tab, click on the brush options button, click on the custom bar, and then choose your brush. You can use both PaintShopPro brushes and Adobe Photoshop brushes which is nice.

OK, now you have your brush chosen, there are so many, play around with them and see the different effects you can have. Sweep across your graphic with the brush (hold down the left mouse button and move it across the graphic), or just click it randomly onto your graphic. Use different plugins to create an unlimited amount of different effects. Use different colors and brushes together. Just play around, some of my best work was a mistake. The more you play, the more you learn to manipulate your work, and the better you become.

OK, now it's time to start showing you an example of a graphic I made using different brushes. My brushes are being hosted by DeepSpaceWeb on the brushes page. Please go there to see and download the custom brushes I made, there are also brushes made by other people as well as lot's of other information and programs there. PSSSST! Be sure to come back here to see what you can do with the brushes (if your a beginner that is)!
