Parents job
|
Bring the girl on time if possible
Walk in with your daughter, do not drop her off at the front door and hope she gets to the meeting place.
Two hours later you may discover she is missing.
Pick up your daughter at the meeting place or, if you are late, at the front door where the troop leader will be waiting with your daughter.
The leader will NOT leave your daughter unattended so don't panic if you are late!
Take care of any fee issues.
Make sure the troop leader knows how to contact you in case of an emergency.
Be sure the leader and the Brownie knows if they have any allergies to food (such as peanuts) or other products
Be sure the leader knows of any physical problems such as epilepsy so she won't freak out if something unexpected happens
:-)
If you come to the meeting and stay you don't have to participate but please be quiet and don't get too chatty and loud
with the other parents. There will be a table for the parents. The girls need to do stuff on their own.

If parents bring another child that is not a registered Girl Scout
|
Be aware that an unregistered child is NOT covered by the Girl Scout insurance if they are injured in any way
Parents are responsible for the unregistered child, do not expect the leader or troop to babysit them
The unregistered child may join in on some activities unless there is a chance they could injure themselves
(such as a 2 year old with scissors) or if the troop funds can't make an allowance for their participation for a particular project
Unregistered children may not go on an excursion (such as camping) unless the parent understands they are totally
responsible for the child and understand that Girl Scout insurance will not cover them. (This is subject to change once I am sure of this rule).
